The Challenge:
The concept was to incorporate as many existing production components as possible as well as multiple additional features. The enclosure was to be designed in sheetmetal and suitable for high volume manufacture. The bezel was to be made of machined aluminum and glass, coordinating well with ultra high-end AV gear.
The Result:
Working closely with UltimateTV in-house engineers, Mechanistic developed a mechanical layout in Pro/ENGINEER, then designed a two-piece sheet-metal enclosure suitable for progressive die tooling complete with preliminary EMI details. The bezel was developed in parallel from sketches and sent out for machining. The "glass" was fabricated from acrylic. This project was completed on-time and on-budget!
