The Challenge:
The initial design specification
called for the unit to be vertically rotating and to employ a far-infrared
heat source in cooking the meat. One of the major challenges associated
with the vertical orientation was the method of driving the 'meat-cage',
as it was undesirable to place any components between the meat and the
heat source.
The Result:
Mechanistic assisted in the
development of an innovative solution whereby the "meat-cage"
was driven from the edge and supported on the sides of the unit. Some
additional benefits were improved ergonomics for the end user, reduced
manufacturing cost, and improved assembly time.
